doing the Puyallup

We started off the school year with the good old Puyallup fair.  Cotton Candy and Elephant ears and this year we got to go with Peter and Brooke and family.

Anna has many faces.  THis is one of them.

Liam continues to be obsessed with cars.  Did I say obsessed?
Anna and Sydney hung out with Eic while Aunt Brooke got the boys (Liam and Benson ready for some Mutton Bustin.
Liam was the first kid out of the gate.  HE held on tight but the mutton was just too wild for his likes.

Liams favorite event besides driving the cars.
Anna's favorite thing to do, get magical creatures painted on her cute little white cheeks

It wouldn't be the fair without the rides and the big yellow slide.  see you next fall.

School starts

2 days after we moved in the kids started school.  Liam lucked out and got a really excellent teacher, Mrs. Dugan.  He was quite nervous being a new kid and had a hard adjustment for the first month or so, but he settled into a schedule and made friends and has had a fabulous time.

Anna was ready to go and had no fear as she is with most of her life.  I did not tell her to pose like this by the way.  It's all her.  She started preschool at Joyful Hearts Preschool at our community methodist church.  She jumped right in and made friends.

Moving to our first home!

Anna and Liam said their goodbyes to their good friend and neighbor Mackayla and her Cousin Tristan.  It was a hard goodbye and we tried to give them a really fun day together as it was their last.

They spent all day in their swimsuits.  We let them build a fort and slip and slide and the icecream truck pulled up just as the tears started and we were saying goodbye.  Spongebob ice cream totally saved us from drama and the goodbye ended with hugs and giggles.

We loaded the U-haul in record time.  Literally.  When we had ordered it a week before online, Eic accidently said we needed it at 7 pm instead of am.  We would have had to pack that evening, haul it to the new house and return it all before midnight.  Luckily we found one they could lend out the next morning but we only had it for 3 hours.  The boys hauled like mad.  It was kind of crazy but we did it.

Liam loved climbing around in the truck and couldn't wait to ride in it.

you will have to double click to make the pics bigger but this is our new home in Washington.  We searched for the entire summer and had a few days to while in Utah to close on it.  It was well loved by a family who lived here their entire life and was completely remodeled for the sell.  We feel really blessed and so happy to have found it and to have won the bidding war.
I can't believe how much work moving is and we couldn't have done it without all the support and hardworking family members around us.  I can't tell you guys thanks enough.

Rock'n baby shower

I hosted a baby shower for the sister while I was in Utah. Becky and Jake love to rock so I thought a concert themed baby shower was appropriate. Becky got a V.ery I. mpregnated P. erson pass to adorn her belly
I made a diaper cake to give them a collection of the tiniest diapers you have ever seen. I forgot how tiny they are. seriously.
THis was the invitation. I had fun making it.
I made back stage passes for everyone. If anyone said baby then it was a free for all for who could get their backstage pass. The winner was the player with the most backstage passes. IT was pretty fun. But I've got to say that I got conned out of mine a few time by some tricky brothers.
I decorated with blues and oranges and guitars with wings floating around.
The Benson girls won a a guitar cheese grater.
David won a guitar spatula.
I made the boys feel our pregnant pain in a game called "Clean up time". THey put baloons under their shirts and then they raced to bend down, take off their shoes, pick up 20 diaper pins off the floor, and put their shoes back on. It got pretty wild I must say.
Rosie surprised us all and won the karoke contest. we left a mivrophone in the middle of the room and people could run at random and grab the mic to sing any song they could think of with the word baby in it. Rosie made the most runs and took a sweet prize home.
This is me making horchata.
Jake won a guitar icecube tray which I am sure he can now put nice cool ice in his drink and relax while Becky changes diapers and nurses the wee one. He he.

White Family Reunion 2011

homage must be paid to those who labored to build our shade structure. It did indeed do it's job and give us shade in the hot desert weather.
The talent show. A classic event that we all prepare so hard for. Mike played his sax for us and our family sang a song in bird calls. Okay, it was mostly only me doing the bird calls and Eric trying to pretend like he knew what he was doing and the kids got stage fright.
Jenny was in charge of the 50th anniversary bash for my parents. My dad was serenaded by his sons as he sang a love song to my Mom. The second generation of siblings and spouses surpised Mom and Dad with a song and they even got to cut an anniversary cake and dance the jitterbug. It was seriously the sweetest thing I've ever seen.
Sharee did not share her texting talent with us this year but isn't this a pretty picture?
Now it's Sara's turn. It's pretty fun watching a family talent show.
Rosie and all the little White kids played a violin piece for us. Even 3 year old Karen had her own little violin.
Desi and Jon helped plan the reunion with James. They brought their new little baby Corbin to meet the family too.
