Totally Rad

My friend Chandra had an 80's birthday for her husbands 40th. E and I hit value village and scored some acid washed jeans.

The cake was awesome! Not only was it all cake, but it tasted decadent (that's what your supposed to say about chocolate, right?)

We won the prize for Best couple in the end. We got a cute gift basket with candy from the 80's, like gobstoppers and Big League Chew Bubble gum and an arubix ( no clue how to spell that) cube. Thanks for the memories Chandra, it was good times.

Thank you Grandma White

It was Liam's idea to write Thank You on 2 pieces of paper and post it on the blog for Grandma. (double click on the picture to see it bigger) He and Anna were so excited to get their shirts in the mail and Liam's eyes bugged out when he heard to Grandma and Grandpa were in Hawaaii. He wanted to know right away if you had seen any whales or sharks. They laid their shirts out by their beds that night and put them on first thing in the morning. It means the world to see my kiddos have ties to their Grandma and Grandpa White. So thank you and we love you!

Leo the lobster

Every student in Liams Kindergarten class gets to take home Leo the lobster at some point. They take him everywhere with them and them write a paragraph about their adventures for class.
Leo went to park when Aunt Jenny and Uncle Jeff visited. He went for a ride on the swings and played hide and seek.
He spent much of his time resting in Liam's boat behind which I have caught a rare moment when Anna actually has allowed Liam to touch her with out pushing him away.

Nice out.

Spring is finally in the air and the kids are loving playing outside and having little picnics.

Little Mermaid

From Anna's very first bath she always been really comfortable in the water. She loves to lay her head back and float in the tub and sing very loud but very pretty songs. She's getting ready to take swimming lessons this summer and I can't wait to see her do it.

Aunt Jenny and Uncle Jeff

My sister and her husband gave us a lovely visit. We had a blast visiting and reaqainting the kiddos with family. And yes, Jenny and I stayed up until 4 o'clock in the morning talking.

Hanging out at the EMP

We rode the ducks and toured lovely Seattle. Liam loved when the duck splashed into the water.

We all felt safe in the renewed WWII vehicle with the safelty vests within reach.

Jeff was kept on his toes during the tour by the driver who asked him every single question.

We had so much fun with you guys! We had a beach picnic and Liam still talks about taking Leo the Lobster to the park with Aunt Jenny and Uncle Jeff. Thanks for coming guys!

Happy Valentines Day

We had a little family Valentines party this year. I made dinner and we had strawberry smoothies with brownies while we made love bug party hats.

We played "hot or cold" with a hidden heart and we did a heart relay

We played "Heartbeat". Whenever the beat of the music stopped the kids had to freeze. Afterward we all sat in a circle told each other why we loved everyone. Anna's answer was a very confident statement of "a heart". We all hugged and kissed and the kids got a heart sucker in which Liam replied" Actually, I already have a tummy ache, so I'm going to save this until tommorrow".

Conversation

Conversation with Liam on a Sunday afternoon:
Liam- Mom, whenever I go to Mackayla's house we're always following Satan.
Mom- Well, what things do you do that are following Satan?
Liam- We always say Bumb, and Poo and we run away from Mackayla's Mom.

Potty training and the winter blahs

Anna and Liam celebrate Anna's graduation from diapers appropriately by wearing them in mockery on their heads.
This is how much of our post Christmas time has been spent. Hanging out in the house and getting crazy with what it holds.

While Liam has been occupying much of his time with school, homeowork and friends, Anna has been using her new Christmas Present to burn the spirit of dance into her soul. She looks like this most of the day and never stops dancing. Her eyes close and she is in another world entirely.

Christmas is still lingering in our house. Liam is hanging on to it hoping that the magic will last until next December. Playing 'Freeze-Dance' has been one of the most popular activities to get through the winter blahs. (Well, it's still a little blah for me because Liam refuses to dance to anything else but the children's Christmas CD you will hear as you watch)
