Bad Parents

Liam lost his second tooth yesterday, during school time no less. he and his teacher carefully put it in a bag and he dutifully put it under his pillow last night hoping for "cash " from the toothfairy. This morning a sad little boy crawled into my bed at 6:30 am and quietly whispered that the toothfairy had not come. But he had an idea. He thought that if he scrubbed it really well with a toothbrush and made it shiny that she might want it more and then come again this evening. I saw him scrubbing it vigorously before school this morning. Oh man, do we feel like bad parents.
Kids can be so humbling. Sometimes we get so caught up in keeping our own lives in control and happy that we forget what's important and what's happening in their lives.

How could you forget something like that!? Just teasing. It seems that incidents like these need to happen in our lives so that we feel that devasting feeling of failure and are determined never, ever let it happen again.
Loved how well Liam took it though. Such a good kid.

Oh dear, you will need to ask the boys and Heather about all the times the toothfairy forgot to visit our house. We always thought it had something to do with Bill being the dentist. Who knows! In either case, it all worked out just fine.
