Grandpa's get up was complete with holsters and real pistols that you don't see here.
Amy's southwestern shirt was awesome.
The chilidogs, dutch oven cornbread, watermelon and even homemade apple pies hit the spot.
Howdy!

Liams cache of marshmellows.

This was so funny. These girls set up their chairs and ate thier food in this little circle all evening. THey looked like a bunch of little old ladies sitting around chatting.
I'm so pleased with the way the reunion turned out. Thank you everyone for being enthusiastic despite the heat. I have eight more years until I have to host another reunion. whoo hoo! Too soon it will be little Seths turn.

Girls Day Out

I must apologize for the smallness of these here pics. Please feel free to double click for better viewing. ( I am too lazy to adjust them). My dear friend and former roommate Krista came to town a few weeks ago. She, Chandra ( another dear friend and former rommate) and I had an adventurous day together. We had a fabulous meal at a lovely restaraunt overlooking Pikes Place, followed by a wild ride on the Seattle Duck Tour Bus. This entailed clapping, stomping feet, doing the wave, yelling and singing to old classics, like She's a brick house and a couple of Hammer songs. The Eveing was ended with a little Bookstore browsing and a Piano bar. Elton John, being it on.
Just wanted to say thank you to CHandra for a fun day and Cheers to good friends.

Snow Lake

We went on a hike last weekend to to Snow Lake with a group of friends.
Washington amazes me. One weekend your hiking in a rain forest and the next weekend your hiking in an Alpine forest.
This is the group, kids, dogs and adults taking a breather.

Anna was a trouper and rode in the back pack the whole way. Liam walked entire hike and didn't complain. He hummed and poked his stick into things most of the way.
We finally made it to the lake and it was completely fogged over. We could only see about 100 feet out. It was still pretty cool with all the fog though. We had lunch and the kiddos played.

Then we headed back. Liam and Theo really buddied up and couldn't be kept apart.

I couldn't quit taking pictures because everything was so pretty.

The fog was so magical. It didn't make for the best photographs, but it was beautiful.

Eight miles later we made it to the bottom and a trip to get donuts and hot chocolate was in order.

Sunday has been Sabotaged

Liam has finally reached the age where he recognizes that Sunday is just not as fun as the rest of the days of the week. A rebelious spirit has emerged and we have proof. After a lesson on Missionairies, Liam was to draw himself in this unfinished picture of a hardworking missionairy. Note his Cyclops companion as well.

Camping

Anna is enjoying the fire at the ward campout. The church owns some property a little north of us and our ward does a camp out here a couple of times during the summer.

Pretty girl.
This swing is awesome. This is Liam and his friend Colton.

Pure joy.

Anna is really bonding with her Eric lately. He treasures every moment of it too.

This is Anna's fake cry. she uses it a lot these days.
Anna was crying and the boys both felt really bad for her so they came running down the trail and held her hands. It was so cute.
Liam was the first to go on the zipline. He made sure that Eric hung on to the rope tightly, he was a little nervous.
As soon as Anna saw Liam go she got really intense and kept saying " Anna's turn, Anna's turn". She loved it ans squealed with delight until it got a little fast at the end and she kind of whined for a second.

IT was a really cool place to camp. There was a shallow river for swimming and you can float down it as well, the kids did a little skinny dipping because I forgot their swimsuits, but they had blast cooling off in the water. It was good to get out of the heat.

Hot summer days

It has been in the 100's here in Washington and with the humidity and no AC we have been trying to keep cool. Lot's of trips to the Lake, the children's museum, the library and just playing in the water. The rest of our lives have been on hold really. whew!
Anna adores cats and our neighbor has a creepy animatronic cat that she loves.
We would pour baby oil on the whale and the kids had a ball jumping on it and sliding off

Anna does pretty much whatever thier friend mackayla does.
Their has been lot's of bike riding too. Anything to keep cool.
